PARE Testing
The Physical Ability Requirement Evaluation (PARE) is an occupational test designed to assess one’s ability to perform the physical demands of law enforcement. It is divided into three sections: the obstacle course, push/pull (weight station) and a bag carry. The first two stations are timed, and the third station is a pass or fail activity that is not timed.
Prior to your PARE test, you must complete the Get Active Questionnaire (GAQ) by CSEP and the Town of Okotoks Liability Waiver. Should you feel you need to obtain a medical clearance prior to running the PARE test please obtain that document from your physician and provide it to testers on test day.
PARE Testing Practice Session
Practice sessions include the same three sections: the obstacle course, push/pull (weight station) and a bag carry, completed during an actual test. Practice sessions can be beneficial in preparing you for what to expect during a PARE test.
