Did you know that the Aquatic Centre is wheelchair accessible?
Swindells Pool and the hot tub at the Okotoks Recreation Centre are accessible, with ramps for wheelchair access. And the Riley Minue Pool has a wheelchair lift as well as Aquastairs removable stairs.
The safety of youth in our facility is a priority. The Aquatic Centre follows the recommendations of the Lifesaving Society of Alberta for pool safety, which have now become the industry standard.
In partnership with Natural High Fitness, the Recreation Centre houses a state-of-the-art fitness facility that is open seven days per week.
With competitive prices, flexible payment plans, pass suspension options for annual passholders, corporate memberships, and multiple family pass options this is the BEST fitness value in town. With any recreation facility pass, access the fitness centre and all drop-in classes; plus you get access to the rest of the Okotoks Recreation Centre, including the Aquatic Centre's hot tub and sauna and drop-in swimming, skating and gym opportunities.

A Family-Friendly Facility
We believe that fitness is as much for kids as it is for adults. As such, we invite youth 12 years of age and older to utilize the Fitness Centre's weight room and access fitness programs on their own.Â
Children ages 6-11 can also access the Fitness Centre anytime under the following guidelines:

The gymnasium at the Okotoks Recreation Centre has 6,076 square feet of hard court available for rental opportunities. The gym is used for providing sports and fitness-based programs and drop-in activities. Equipment for use during drop-in times is available for a small rental fee and/or security deposit at Client Services.
This space can be converted into two courts and used for:
KinderCare is a safe and convenient place to drop your children off while you participate in activities at the Recreation Centre. KinderCare is short-term care for children ages 3 months to 5 years and is staffed with qualified, caring individuals who provide a play-based environment with opportunities for age-appropriate activities.
Please note: The KinderCare is a nut free zone.

With two official NHL-sized ice surfaces of 200 feet by 85 feet, the Piper and Murray Arenas are a great choice for drop-in skating, shinny, tournaments, or even birthday parties.
The arenas accommodate competitive and recreational hockey, figure skating, family and public skating, and organized group activities. Seating capacity of the Murray Arena is approximately 1000 and the Piper arena seats 250.Â
The arena sees more than 25 user groups and over 4,300 registered participants utilizing the facilities annually. Ice surfaces have an active season from September to April. When some or all ice surfaces are removed in the spring, the concrete floors accommodates sports like roller hockey and lacrosse, as well as special community events such as the Chamber of Commerce Business Expo.
HELMETS!
The single most important piece of equipment is a helmet! Effective, Jan. 1, 2018, all users of drop in skating and community programs and events will be required to wear a CSA approved helmet. All Ages!
To help with this transition, as of Aug. 1, 2017, all users under 18 years old must wear a CSA approved helmet. After Jan. 1, 2018, all users will be required.
This youth-friendly facility is for youth aged 12-18 (teens aged 18 are welcome until they graduate Grade 12).
The Okotoks Youth Centre (OYC) is located on the lower level of the Okotoks Recreation Centre, adjacent to the skate park. It has been equipped specifically for youth with a TV lounge that includes a flat screen TV, a PlayStation 4 gaming console, a pool table, air hockey table, a homework area with computers and workstations, and a multi-purpose area for games, programs, and activities. The OYC is a safe environment and is supervised by trained, responsible staff on-site during all operational hours.
