Who we are

The Okotoks Family Resource Centre (OFRC) builds a healthy community by improving access to social services and community resources. OFRC serves residents from Okotoks and surrounding areas, including Black Diamond, Turner Valley and the Foothills County.

Our qualified staff provide confidential assessments to help residents understand their options, navigate the system, get connected with appropriate resources, and develop a plan that works for them. With good information, residents can access services they need.

Our mission

To relieve stress and restore hope for members of the community by providing information and making connections to programs and services.

Our goals

  1. To provide an accessible point of entry where residents can obtain the supports and resources they require.
  2. To provide a timely intervention (including any education, support or crisis management) that may assist residents in becoming stronger, more self-reliant and accountable for the decisions that affect them.
  3. To improve access to community resources.

Are you unsure about whether the service you are looking for is available in our community? Staff will provide information about where and how to access programs and services.  With the right resources and information, residents can flourish!

Services are provided by telephone, email and appointments.

Common questions include:

  • What local services exist for low-income residents?
  • How do I access counseling?
  • Is there subsidized housing in the Foothills?
  • What parenting programs are in the community?
  • I need transportation to appointments.  Is there help?

Staff are very aware of local resources and will respond to all inquiries.
