The Town encourages respect during each interaction and provides employees with the necessary information and tools to recognize and respond to many types of situations. The Town has an ongoing commitment to a positive culture of respect while fostering a safe and healthy work environment, and recognizes the importance of respect in the workplace for all Town employees. Employee engagement is built on a foundation of respect, which is a key element in making the Town of Okotoks a great employer.
The Town encourages the resolution of workplace conflict, or any kind of interpersonal concern, through the least formal methods when at all possible. It has been demonstrated that honest, face-to-face discussions lead to the most lasting and satisfying resolutions for all parties.
Through our work with the Occupational Health & Safety Committee, Engagement Committees, Lunch ‘n Learn information sessions, and our day-to-day interactions with one another, we strive to create a workplace where employees are supported, respected and encouraged to reach their full potential. The Town has developed a robust workplace wellness program that encourages both physical well-being and mental wellness through nutrition, physical fitness, work-life balance, stress management and other activities that support personal wellness. Initiatives will continue to be rolled out through the Engagement Committee.
