North Okotoks: Located beside the Recreation Centre (99 Okotoks Drive) the Skate Park was professionally upgraded and expanded to 1115 square meters in the fall of 2014. This park contains predominantly "street skating" elements as prioritized by park users during the participatory design workshops held in the spring/summer of 2014 prior to construction. Features include: banks, ledges, rails, a slappy feature, a mani pad/stair/hubba feature, a pump bump, and two quarter pipes.
South Okotoks: Coming soon to Howard Park (229 Woodhaven Dr)! The Town is pleased to offer another option to keep our youth engaged in sport and recreation opportunities. This initiative was identified in the updated 2022 Recreation, Parks and Leisure Master Plan as priority # 17, as well as aligns with the Citizen Satisfaction Survey and the Municipal Development Plan. As the September 11, 2023 Council Report details, Howard Park was chosen as the preferred location as it offers the space and features best suited for a new skate park, and provides for a balance of recreational amenities on the south side of town. Council directed Administration to proceed with the planning, design and construction of a new skateboard park at Howard Park and amended the 2023 Capital Budget by advancing the timeline for the project to be $50,000 for design in 2023, and $750,000 for construction in 2024.  Â
