Okotoks Hall of Fame

Nominations can be made for an individual, a group or a team, living or deceased, in the following categories:

An individual, team or group must meet the following requirements to be nominated for the Hall of Fame Program:
 
Individual:

• The individual must be a resident of Okotoks at the time of the individual’s achievements. 
• The individual needs to have resided in Okotoks for a minimum of 5 years. 

Group or team:

• The group or team must be considered Okotoks-based. 
• The group or team needs to have resided in Okotoks for a minimum of five (5) years.
   

• The Hall of Fame Program nomination and selection process occurs every four (4) years with nominations closing June 30 of each nomination term. 
• The process is initiated by receipt of a nomination package from a resident or group to Administration. 
• The selection panel for the Hall of Fame Program shall be the Governance and Priorities Committee (GPC).
• There will be no more than six (6) inductees each nomination period.
• There shall be a maximum of two (2) inductees in each category.
• Not every classification and/or category will be awarded each nomination period.

Submitting a nomination 

• Refer to the Hall of Fame Program Policy for eligibility requirements
• Complete a Hall of Fame Nomination Form. *Please note, we are not currently accepting nominations. 
• Provide all required supporting materials, including a letter of support and supporting documentation, with your Hall of Fame Nomination Form submission

Letter of Support and Supporting Documentation 

A letter of support should include: 

• Why the nominee is deserving of this honour;
• A detailed summary of relevant activities, emphasizing why this would be a lifetime achievement;
• Reference made to the character of the nominee;
• National or international recognition of the nominee;
• The nominee’s activities that have brought recognition to the Town of Okotoks; and
• The significance of the nominee’s activities and impact they have had on the community.

Supporting documentation should include:

• Materials identifying the accomplishments (i.e. newspaper, website articles -please provide the actual article, not just links to websites - other applicable documentation); and
• Letter(s) of support including endorsement by a recognized organization in the area of nomination.
• A photo of the nominee. Accepted formats include a high resolution (2-25 MB), colour photo submitted uncompressed as TIFF or max quality JPEG.

*All nomination letters with supporting documentation shall be uploaded as one pdf package into the online submission form.
