In the heart of Okotoks, a passionate and driven individual is shaping the educational landscape for young minds. Meet Nikolas Cavalheiro Zetouni, the founder and CEO of Next Gen EduCare, a visionary daycare that goes beyond traditional early childhood education. Nikolas's journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to fostering a love for learning, and his impressive background sets the stage for an educational experience like no other. He considers himself a tech wiz and is responsible for all STEAM curricula from Next Gen.
A Global Perspective in Education
Nikolas's educational journey spans continents, with a Master of Science in Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, specializing in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Alberta, and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Taubate, Brazil. He also holds an ECE Level 1 diploma and helps with Next Gen operations when possible (or when he wants a break from his computer). His dedication to education is evident in the eight years he spent teaching Sciences and Biology in Brazil, earning him three "Best Teacher Awards" from different schools.
Driven by a belief in the transformative power of education, Nikolas founded and operated his own school in Brazil, preparing underprivileged students for university admission exams. This experience solidified his understanding of the profound impact education can have on individuals and communities.
Adapting and Thriving in Canada
Upon moving to Canada, Nikolas embarked on a new path, earning an additional Master's degree in Medical Sciences at the University of Alberta, reflecting his passion for the field. His four years at the university were marked by outstanding achievements, including winning eight research presentation awards, mentoring new students, and contributing to teaching assistantship programs.
After gaining valuable experience in food analysis and oil and gas laboratories, Nikolas realized his true calling was in education. He returned to the field, initially working as an educator for a child care provider. His expertise and dedication led him to swiftly rise to the position of Head of Operations, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the company's business through innovative training programs and partnerships.
Next Gen EduCare - Shaping Future Leaders
Today, Nikolas is the driving force behind Next Gen EduCare, a daycare in Okotoks that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM), environmental stewardship, and multi-language experiences. Catering to children aged 19 months to 6+, Next Gen EduCare offers a unique blend of structured and unstructured learning experiences. Next Gen EduCare in shaping the future of education and empowering the next generation of leaders.
For older children, the daycare provides clubs, workshops, and private lessons with challenge-based and fun learning experiences. These encompass a wide range of topics, from block coding and robotics to virtual reality, 3D design, entrepreneurship, marketing and leadership.
