The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) is a free service available to eligible residents who have low income and a simple tax situation.
The service is offered through the Okotoks Family Resource Centre and is a collaboration between FCSS and the Canada Revenue Agency. Volunteers are screened through the Okotoks Volunteer Resource Centre and are trained by the Canada Revenue Agency to prepare simple tax returns (via e-file when possible).
- Available from the beginning of March until the end of April each year.
- Serving the communities of Okotoks, Turner Valley, Black Diamond and Foothills County.
While most returns are done during tax season, volunteers are available throughout the year to assist.
