What is Slacklining?
Slack lining is the activity or sport of balancing on a rope or webbing that is affixed above the ground approximately 0.6m-1.2m (2-4 feet), usually tied to trees, but not stretched as to be taut. Spotters are strongly encouraged.
Slacklining is permitted in the following locations ONLY:
- Sheep River Park, 99 Woodhaven Drive, between the river and the campground
- Ethel Tucker Centennial Park, 23 Riverside Drive West. These poles have been located with GPS. The Okotoks Public Library will have three slacklines available for sign-out.Â
- Okotoks Recreation Centre, 99 Okotoks Drive (trees southwest of Diamond 10 only, NOT near the spray park)
- Hodson Park, 102 Visser Way
- Tower Hill Park near the tennis courts, 111 Waldron Avenue
- Wilson Park, 10 Wilson Street
