Okotoks Arts and Learning Campus rendering

Following two years of collaboration, the Town, joint-venture partner Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools, along with project stakeholders Bow Valley College, Community Futures Highwood, Foothills School Division and the Okotoks Public Library, have finalized working terms of the Okotoks Arts and Learning Campus (OALC) project by signing memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreements.

The signing of these MOUs supports the project vision and strengthens the collaboration between all stakeholders.

With these key partnerships, Phase 1 of the campus development is focused on a number of shared commitments. Along with being a cornerstone for the enhancement of economic vitality in the downtown, the OALC will:

  • enable opportunities for local access to post-secondary education
  • support a flexible and evolving library experience
  • form a collaborative hub that links families, high school students and postsecondary learners to
  • formal and informal learning
  • create seamless access to resources and supportive networks for businesses and entrepreneurs

This exciting and transformational project will also provide makerspaces, which are designed to encourage the sharing of ideas and collaboration between entrepreneurs, creators and businesses. In addition, the plaza and park will create opportunities for arts and cultural events and activities.

Once complete, the Arts and Learning Campus will free up valuable space for lease for new business in Okotoks’ downtown core. Interested individuals and businesses can contact Okotoks Economic Development for more information.
