• Matthew Kramer, Horizon Heating

  Matthew is the second generation owner of Horizon Heating, a Calgary based Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning company. Horizon opened its doors during the week of the 1988 winter Olympics and over the past 35+ years has helped build thousands of homes and commercial projects in southern Alberta (and beyond). Under Matthew's direct guidance over the last 18 years, Horizon Heating has become known as an innovative heating contractor leading the way in the adoption of new technologies, including heat pumps.  

  Horizon Heating is a full service HVAC company and has their own sheet metal shop, service & installation departments, and design team. Horizon Heating is proud to be the first company in Canada to install several different inverter style products in residential applications including the Carrier Infinity and Performance Series heat pumps.

  In addition to growing up in the HVAC industry, Matthew has additional experience with a background in mechanical engineering and drafting, having worked on industrial projects across Canada, the USA, Mexico, Brazil, Europe, and the Middle East.  Matthew is the past president of the Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Alberta (SMACNA-AB), is currently on the board of directors, is the Chair of the Society's Technical Liaison Committee, and also represents SMACNA-AB and the province's HVAC-R industry stakeholders as the elected member of the Safety Codes Council. Matthew is also a director and founding member of the local chapter of the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI). When not helping his customers with their HVAC systems, Matthew can be found on the ski slopes, hiking trails, visiting a local craft brewery, and listening to live music.
