The Town of Okotoks employs Community Peace Officers appointed by Alberta Justice and Solicitor General who perform a wide range of duties under the Alberta Peace Office Act. Municipal Enforcement Officers work in collaboration with the Okotoks Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) out of the Southridge Emergency Services Building.
The purpose of Municipal Enforcement is to enhance community safety by educating the public and raising awareness and compliance of Town Bylaws and Provincial Acts and Regulations. Okotoks Peace Officers are authorized to enforce bylaws and regulations for issues they observe during daily patrols as well as those received from residents.
