Why This Work Is Happening
Specialized contractors have been hired to flush all of the sanitary sewer mains in Town on a rotating basis to make sure that they remain clear of obstructions and that they are operating properly. This is proactive maintenance designed to help prevent blockages and backups, remove debris such as tree roots, grease, grit and sand. It also provides us the opportunity to inspect the sewer system components to determine their condition and potential repairs or replacements as necessary. Sanitary sewer line flushing is a standard practice used across many municipal wastewater systems.
