A Musical Tribute to Elton John
-with Rob Skeet as Cyril Tenjohn and featuring the Husky Tower Band
First off, we want to thank everyone who shared their feedback about last night's Elton John tribute show—and yes, we absolutely get the frustration. The decision to move the event indoors was made during a full-on downpour at setup, with safety and comfort in mind. Of course, by the time the show started, the skies cleared and it felt like Mother Nature was just messing with us (again). While we posted the update on our social channels, we missed updating the website—and there was no information at the Plaza to redirect you. That’s on us, and we’re genuinely sorry for the confusion.
Our events team pours their hearts into creating amazing experiences, rain or shine. Juggling weather calls isn’t easy, but we know clear communication matters just as much. We’re the first to admit we’re not perfect, and we do make mistakes—but we’re committed to learning from them. We’re reviewing our processes to ensure future weather changes—and how we communicate them—are handled better across the board. That said, while frustration is completely understandable, shouting at or being abusive toward staff is not. Respect goes both ways, and kindness makes all the difference, even when things don’t go as planned.
Going forward, you can expect faster updates, clearer signage, and fewer surprises (fingers crossed for no snow in August!). Thank you for your patience, your passion, and for helping us do better every time. We hope to see you at next week's show, Brasstactics!
