Join us at the Okotoks Public Library to welcome the inaugural Sheep River Artist in Residence, Tanya Zakarow.
Longtime Okotokian, Tanya Zakarow is an emerging, figurative artist who is inspired by the human form and anatomy of the face. She works primarily in coloured pencil, watercolour and pastel. By combining these mediums, in a self-developed layering technique, her portraits take on a three dimensional appearance as the colour transforms and shines. Tanya’s goal for this residency is to create four portraits of influential Okotokians who have inspired, encouraged and dedicated their time to help make Okotoks a wonderful community.
