Nature Fridays: Fall Harvest & Garden Magic

  • Over the fall months, Alberta’s fields and gardens come alive with colour and produce. From golden wheat to bright red apples and hardy squash, this is a time to celebrate the land's abundance and prepare for seasons ahead. This Friday join us to explore how food is grown, harvested, and composted.

    Here's what we've going on this week:

    WATCH & LEARNDiscover what crops are grown in Alberta, why fall is the ideal time for harvest, and how we can give back to the soil through composting.
    EXPLORECheck out some real Alberta crops under the microscope and play “What Goes in the Compost?”
    CREATEMake your own wheat harvesting bookmarks and collages!

    Please note: parents must stay with their children while they are in the education centre.

    Hours: Nature Fridays take place every Friday at the Environmental Education Centre from 10 AM to 4 PM. There will be a staff member will be on hand running activities, and will be available to chat with the public and answer questions.
