Nature Fridays: Butterflies and their Lifecycle

  • Come celebrate Pollinator Week with us as we learn, explore, and create in honour of these important and fascinating insects. 

    Here's what we've going on this week:

    WATCH & LEARNDiscover the magic of metamorphosis! We’ll explore the incredible journey of Alberta’s most notable butterflies—from tiny eggs to fluttering adults.
    EXPLORETake a close-up look at the very beginning of a butterfly’s life using our brand-new microscopes!
    CREATEGet crafty and make your own beautiful butterfly using clothespins, pipe cleaners and coffee filters—fun to make and even more fun to flutter!

    Please note: parents must stay with their children while they are in the education centre.

    Hours: Nature Fridays take place every Friday at the Environmental Education Centre from 10 AM to 4 PM. There will be a staff member will be on hand running activities, and will be available to chat with the public and answer questions.
