Downtown Improvements Project Update: Info Session March 26

downtown Okotoks

The Town of Okotoks is continuing work on the Downtown Improvement Project to upgrade aging infrastructure and enhance the overall downtown experience. This work will help create a more welcoming, accessible and connected downtown, while supporting local businesses and long-term economic vitality.

Phase 1 of the project began in 2025, and we’ll continue building on that progress throughout the 2026 construction season (spring to fall). Upcoming work will take place along North Railway Street, between Alberta Avenue and McRae Street. Construction will focus on replacing underground utilities, improving roads and enhancing public spaces in the downtown core.

We know construction can impact travel, parking and daily routines, and we truly appreciate your patience. The project team will continue working with businesses and the community to help minimize disruptions and support a vibrant downtown throughout construction.

The project team will be hosting a drop-in information session to share details about upcoming work and to answer questions about construction timing, access, parking, detours and more. We encourage you to attend and learn more.
