- Prep work and construction of the inclusive and accessible playground at Howard Park.
- Construction work for the Southside All Wheel Skatepark.
- The Howard Park Central Pathway will be removed after the completion of the prep work and realigned to accommodate the Southside All Wheel Skate Park.

- Construction of accessible and inclusive playground: started September 4
- End Date: October 2025 (weather permitting).
Impacts
- Howard Park’s Central Pathway will be closed during construction and pedestrian detours will be in place on Woodbend Way and Woodhaven Drive for pedestrians who need access to Howard Park sports fields, or Woodhaven Drive from Viking Rentals Centre or Community Drive.
- The current park playground will be closed and removed.
- Sports fields will not be impacted.
What To Expect:
- Pathway detours on Howard Park’s Central Pathway.
- Construction crews, heavy equipment and noise during working hours on both the All Wheel Skate Park site and the Howard Park Inclusive and Accessible playground site.
- Traffic signage, barriers and fencing to direct detours.
- Parking may be limited on Woodhaven Drive, as well as at Viking Rentals Centre and the Seniors’ Centre.
Why This Work Is Happening:
To prepare for the installation and construction of the Southside All Wheel Skatepark and the new, inclusive and accessible playground in Howard Park.
