The Town of Okotoks is inviting nominations for the 2025 Hall of Fame, a prestigious program that honours individuals, groups, and teams who have made a lasting impact on our community.
At the January 27, 2025 Regular Council Meeting, a new Hall of Fame Program policy was adopted, introducing updates to eligibility criteria and selection process to help see that the program continues to reflect and celebrate the achievements in our community.
“We are thrilled to reinstate this program, creating opportunity to recognize the incredible achievements and contributions of community members in sport, arts and culture, and community service,” says Okotoks Mayor, Tanya Thorn. “Public nominations are essential in helping us select and honour deserving individuals while strengthening our shared community spirit.”
Nominations are open to individuals, groups, or teams, living or deceased, in three categories including sports, arts and culture, and community service. To qualify, nominees must have lived in Okotoks for at least five years. Individuals must have been residents at the time of their achievement, while teams or groups must be recognized as Okotoks-based.
Okotoks’ Governance and Priorities Committee will serve as the selection panel, reviewing nominations every four years. The nomination period closes on June 30 of each nomination term. Since its inception, there have been 16 individuals inducted inducted into the Hall of Fame, which is located in the Okotoks Recreation Centre.
