River's Edge Infrastructure Improvements Project Update

river's edge project area

In 2025, The Town of Okotoks received more than $5 million from the Government of Alberta through the Local Growth and Sustainability Grant (LGSG) to fund essential deep utility and road infrastructure. This work will help create a more welcoming, accessible and connected community, while supporting economic development.

Phase 1 of the project began last spring, and we'll now be building on that progress as we continue with this project throughout the upcoming construction season, spring to fall 2026. Phase 2 of the project will occur from fall 2026 to fall 2027. This year, crews will be upgrading sewer and roads along Riverside Drive (from Northridge Drive to east of Veterans Way), improving the Veterans Way intersection and enhancing parking along Daggett Street, all to help create a more welcoming, accessible, connected community & support long-term economic growth.

The project team will be hosting drop-in information sessions to share information about the work being done and to be on had to answer questions about detours, access, parking, impacts and more. Thank you for joining us!
