The Town of Okotoks’ 2025 Annual Report, themed Celebrating Alberta’s Most Livable Community, was shared with Council during the July 13 Council meeting. The report provides a transparent summary of the Town’s 2025 strategic, operational and financial results while highlighting the people, services, projects and shared sense of connection that make Okotoks an exceptional place to call home. The theme reflects Okotoks’ recognition by The Globe and Mail as Alberta’s most livable community.

The Annual Report is an important public accountability tool that outlines the Town’s strategic goals, outcomes, service delivery and audited financial results.

“If residents read one Town document each year, this is the one,” said Mayor Tanya Thorn. “The Annual Report gives our community a transparent look at the Town’s progress, financial results and the services and projects delivered throughout the year. I strongly encourage residents to take time to review it.”

The Town has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s CAnFR award for six consecutive annual reports, from 2019 to 2024. The award recognizes Canadian municipalities that demonstrate excellence in financial reporting and go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles. The 2025 Annual Report was prepared with the same commitment to clear, comprehensive and transparent reporting.

“The 2025 Annual Report provides Council and the community with a clear summary of the Town’s progress, service delivery and financial results over the past year,” said Chief Administrative Officer Elaine Vincent. “It reflects the organization’s continued commitment to transparent reporting, responsible financial stewardship and alignment with Council priorities, while supporting our ongoing efforts to share the Town’s work in a clear and accessible format.”

The 2025 Annual Report is available online at okotoks.ca/annual-report. A limited number of printed copies will be available for pick up on Friday, July 17 at the Okotoks Municipal Centre, the Okotoks Public Library and the Okotoks and District Seniors Club.

The report is printed on recycled paper. Residents are encouraged to view the report online where possible and to recycle printed copies when they are no longer needed.
