Shared e-Scooter (micro-mobility) program

The Town is excited to announce that e-Scooters will be returning to Okotoks for the 2022 season, which runs from March to October, weather permitting. 

A pilot survey conducted in December 2021 helped to inform the future of the program, visit the link below to read the report. Bird Canada will remain the e-Scooter provider for 2022.

What We Heard report

Bird Canada, a wholly Canadian owned and operated company, will be bringing back a fleet of 50 e-Scooters all new silver Bird e-Scooters (see photo). Bird Canada has also chosen Calgary as their Canadian operational headquarters.

Things to know before riding an e-scooter in Okotoks

What about COVID-19?

Bird Canada follows guidance from Alberta Health Services during the current global pandemic. It should be noted that while Bird Canada regularly disinfects e-scooters, they are not cleaned and disinfected between customers. Bird Canada recommends each rider use a pre-moistened disinfectant wipe before their ride. Bird Canada also recommends all riders wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before and after using the e-scooter, and to avoid touching their face during use.
