Canada is home to 80,000 native species, including 60,000 in Alberta. This includes everything from plants, birds, insects, mammals, trees, fish, frogs, reptiles, and even bison!
We as people have a responsibility to the land, and all those that live in it (or above it, if you are a bird!). The biodiversity of Canada is impressive, so let’s celebrate it by creating a craft one of our most iconic species – the beaver.
Here's what we've got going on this week:
| CREATE | A Beaver Using a recyclable paper bag or plate! |
| WATCH & LEARN | Learn all about the fantastic diversity of life that we have in Canada, and Alberta especially. |
| EXPLORE | All the different species that call our beautiful province home. |
Please note: parents must stay with their children while they are in the education centre.
Hours: the Environmental Education Centre is open Monday to Friday to the public from 10 AM to 4 PM. Fridays a staff member will be on hand running activities, and will be available to chat with the public and answer questions.
