Gimme Some More is a live street dance battle hosted at Artist Avenue in Okotoks, bringing dancers and the community together for an exciting evening of freestyle dance, music and friendly competition.
Never been to a street dance battle before? Think of it as a live, head-to-head dance competition, but instead of performing a rehearsed routine, dancers hear the DJ’s music in the moment and have to freestyle. They use their musicality, creativity, technique and individual style to respond to the music and their opponent right on the spot.
The event welcomes multiple street dance styles, including Breaking, Hip Hop, Krump, Popping, Animation, House and more. Throughout the event, dancers compete in rounds, with judges selecting who advances until the final battle determines the winner.
You do not have to be a dancer to attend! Spectators are encouraged to come watch, cheer on the dancers and experience street dance culture in a welcoming, family-friendly environment. Expect great music, high-energy battles, cyphers and dancers of different ages and experience levels sharing the floor.
Gimme Some More is about more than winning. It creates an opportunity for dancers to connect, challenge themselves, learn from one another and participate in the culture and community that surrounds street dance.
Whether you are entering the battle or have absolutely no idea what a dance battle looks like, come experience Gimme Some More live at Artist Avenue in Okotoks.
