Okotoks Fire & Rescue is kicking off Fire Prevention Week on October 5 with an open house at Fire Station 1. Stop by between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to check out the fire trucks, meet the Okotoks Fire & Rescue crew, test out your firefighter skills and learn about fire prevention and safety!
Activities include:
- Story time with the Okotoks Fire Chief
- Colouring contests and prizes
- Fire scenarios and demonstrations
- Firefighting skills and games
- Hang out with Sparky!
- Best dressed firefighter competition and prizes!
Refreshments will be availale on site. If you are driving to the event, we recommend parking at the Okotoks Rec Centre.
*Heads up! Okotoks Fire & Rescue crews might have to dash out during the event if an emergency call comes in. Safety first!
Fire Prevention Week 2025
Fire Prevention Week runs from October 5 to 11, 2025, and this year's theme is “Charge into Fire Safety™: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home”. For more information on Fire Prevention Week, check out the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA).
