• How can you ensure you always know your collection day?

  Use the Town's easy-to-use, online collection schedule tool above to help ensure you never miss a collection day again! Using just your address, you can access your own personalized Collection Schedule. With this tool you can:

  1. Search your address, then set up a reminder or import your personalized Collection Schedule to your online iCal, Outlook or Google Calendar
  2. View, download (PDF), or print your personalized Collection Schedule
  3. Sign up for personalized reminders by email or voicemail .
  4. Download the free Okotoks Waste app  (Available on Apple app store or Google Play store) The app helps you keep track of your collection days, special collection days, upcoming waste events, collection changes, and identify 'what goes where'. 

  Remember collection happens on most stat holidays that fall between Tuesday and Friday, with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Check the schedule and sign up for personalized reminders to ensure you never miss a collection day.

• What goes In your garbage, organics and recycling carts

  Do you know how to properly dispose of your waste? Type the name of an item and we'll tell you how. A lot of your waste can be diverted from the landfill. It's easy!

  1. Select "What Goes Where?" from the tab in the widget above
  2. Type in the item you want to dispose of: candy wrapper, computer, paper, Styrofoam, paint, batteries etc.
  3. Hit the search button!

• What happens when a stat holiday falls on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday?

  Waste collection occurs as usual on most stat holidays. Collection days only change for Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Check the app or online schedule for holiday changes, and sign up for reminders to stay informed.

  On stat holidays, please:

  • Place carts out by 7 a.m. (or the night before).
  • Move carts away from parked vehicles, especially in cul-de-sacs.

  Missed collection? You'll need to wait until your next scheduled pickup.
