By Ashley Thimot
Opening Reception: Saturday, September 19, 1 to 3 pm.
Focusing on the quiet poetry of everyday life, their work explores the urban landscapes and neighbourhood scenes that often go unnoticed. Through a careful study of light, value, and composition, they transform ordinary streets and domestic moments into resonant visual reflections, cultivating a deep appreciation for the beauty hidden in plain sight.
Audiences frequently connect with the nostalgic and grounding quality of the work, noting how the paintings echo their own childhoods and familiar hometown corners. Their goal is to invite viewers into a moment of quiet reflection, offering comfort in the shared patterns of everyday living. In spring 2024, they expanded this dialogue with The Your Everyday Project, an ongoing collaborative initiative that invites the public to submit photographs of their own meaningful everyday spaces to be interpreted on canvas.
