The Okotoks Recreation Centre's aquatic facilities will be temporarily closed for annual maintenance and service. The Riley Minue Lap Pool will close on Friday, August 21 at 8 p.m., while the Swindells Pool, Hot Tub and Sauna will close on Sunday, August 23 at 5:30 p.m. All aquatic facilities will reopen on Saturday, September 5.
This annual maintenance period helps ensure our aquatic facilities remain safe, clean and in good working conditions for the community.
Looking for ways to stay cool?
While the pools are closed, residents can still enjoy the Town's outdoor water amenities:
- Okotoks Spray Park located beside the Okotoks Recreation Centre and skateboard park, the Spray Park features multiple play zones designed for children of different ages.
- Hartley Hub Water Feature located at the Arts and Learning Campus Plaza in Ethel Tucker Park (7 Riverside Drive).
During the seasonal operating period, both amenities are open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. when temperatures are above 20°C. Amenities may close during inclement weather, including high winds, smoke or lightning storms.
We encourage you to bring:
- A hat, sunscreen and water
- An umbrella or sunshade, as shade is limited
- Appropriate footwear to help prevent slips and injuries
