Project Location
This work is taking place at the Highway 2 and Highway 2A interchange north of Okotoks, affecting both roadways in the interchange area.
Type of Work
Bridge rehabilitation work on the structure at the Highway 2 / Highway 2A interchange, including repairs to extend the life of the bridge and maintain safe travel for motorists.
Schedule
Construction will take place in stages between:
- April 13 to October 31, 2026
Not all traffic impacts will be in place for the full duration of the project. Some work will occur during the day, and overnight work will be required during certain stages.
Impacts
For drivers on Highway 2A:
- Highway 2A will remain open
- Expect lane reductions and traffic shifts at times
- Reduced speeds and construction signage will be in place
For drivers on Highway 2 (northbound and southbound):
- Highway 2 will remain open
- Lane reductions under the interchange
- Reduced speed limits, particularly through the work zone
- Additional overnight lane reductions during some stages of construction
Short delays are possible, especially during peak periods or overnight work.
