Geotechnical investigation to assess sub-surface soil and groundwater conditions as part of the River’s Edge project.
Schedule/Impacts
Work is scheduled for November 12–14, 2025, weather dependent. A truck-mounted drilling rig will be present during this time to collect soil samples. No work will occur within the road surface; however, the drill equipment may be parked on or near the roadway. Traffic will be directed around the equipment as needed.
What To Expect
- Minor traffic delays may occur.
- Line painting and flags will appear in advance of the work to mark and avoid buried utilities.
- Watch for workers and signage, and drive with caution around the work area.
- The schedule may be extended if poor weather or unforeseen delays occur.
Why This Work Is Happening
The Town is conducting a geotechnical investigation to support design work for the River’s Edge infrastructure improvements project. This $5 million initiative, funded by a provincial grant, will enhance infrastructure along Riverside Drive and South Railway Street. Understanding soil and groundwater conditions is essential for the project’s design and long-term success.
