How to Get Your Pass:

The Community Pricing Program will give qualified riders 25% off their ride. This offer will be extended to low-income residents, seniors, and health care workers.

Download the Bird App to create an account and email access@bird.co to sign up.

Bird will require the following proof to qualify for the program:

• Low-income residents: a tax document demonstrating they qualify for EI/are low income
• Seniors: any proof of age
• Health Care Workers: proof of badge/employment at a health care institution

16 years is the minimum age as required by the provincial permit issued to Bird Canada.

The Town of Okotoks and Bird Canada recommend all riders wear a helmet when riding an e-Scooter.

Only one rider is permitted per e-Scooter.

Here is how the zone works:

• E-Scooters are operational within the zone delineated on the map - this is where users can rent and ride them.
• Inside this zone, the e-Scooter speed will be set at the 20km/h limit.
• If an e-Scooter is taken outside of this zone, it will come to a gradual stop and beep at the rider. The user will be unable to end the ride outside of this zone, and will have to take the e-Scooter back inside this operating zone to finish their ride, otherwise they will continue being charged.
• An e-Scooter that is left outside this zone will not enable a rider to activate it to ride.
• All e-Scooters should be in this operating areas at all times

E-Scooters are only permitted on:

• sidewalks
• pathways
• exclusive bicycle lanes
• lower classification roadways without road markings.

After a ride, e-Scooters are parked on the portion of a sidewalk that buffers pedestrians from the adjacent roadway and where elements such as trees, streetlights, hydrants, parking meters, or other street furniture are typically located.

E-Scooters are not to be taken indoors or onto private property by riders.

Remember....

• Parked e-Scooters should not block pedestrian travel along sidewalks and pathways, vehicle traffic on roadways, or access to roadways, driveways, or buildings.
• E-Scooters may be parked in areas where bycicle racks are located, but not in such a way that they interfere with use of the bicycle rack.

As per local rules, Bird Canada e-Scooters are set at a maximum speed of 20 km/hr. Slow down zones (15 km/hr) may be implemented in certain areas of town through geo-fencing technology.

A typical e-Scooter season runs from April to October, weather permitting.
