We recognize this week's lane closures on Northridge Drive have caused significant delays and frustration for residents travelling to work, school and other commitments. We understand the impact traffic disruptions can have on daily routines and appreciate residents' patience as this work continues.
The lane closures are required to support ongoing concrete and asphalt work as part of the Northridge Drive Upgrade Project and are expected to remain in place through October 14. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time, pay close attention to posted signage and traffic controls, and consider alternate routes where possible.
With construction also occurring in other areas of town, including along 32 Street, some delays should be expected during peak travel periods. While the work may create temporary disruptions, these projects are improving roads, utilities and transportation infrastructure that will support the long-term needs of our community.
Residents expect timely information about significant traffic impacts, and we will continue looking for opportunities to strengthen construction communications throughout the season.
