The Town of Okotoks is pleased to announce that a community garden is planned for installation through the Okotoks Neighbourhood Community Garden program, led by the community, and is designed for the community. This is the first application received by the Town since the program launched in 2021. The garden will be installed later this spring in Drake Landing at the south end of soccer field parking lot, 45 Drake Landing Drive (see map below).
 
The garden area will take up 16 parking stalls in the soccer field parking lot while the existing pedestrian access will be maintained around the garden site. The new garden will include 12 4x8 foot plots and 10 2x8 foot plots with access to water.
Construction for the new garden is expected to start within the next month and will include a temporary partial closure of the soccer field parking lot. The work will take several weeks to complete, weather permitting. Please watch for equipment, crews and signage and use caution while in the area during this work.
The new garden is anticipated to open later this spring and will be ready for planting, and to start growing your ideas, for the 2023 growing season.
