The Town of Okotoks, in partnership with Foothills Composite High School (FCH), invited the community to help choose the designs for upcoming public art installations as part of the Beautiful Bins project. Thank you for voting for your favourite designs and congratulations to our winners:
In the Grass | Sophia Partridge |
Bee-Topia | Arie Cooper |
Lovely Bees | Ava Morris |
The Bears and the Bees | Natalie Greening |
Bumble Bee Bonanza | Jenna Kidd |
Midnight Fantasy | Brooklyn Quinn |
The Beautiful Bins project was a collaboration between the Town and the FCH where students submitted their painted designs, using the theme “pollinators,” to be painted on six Town garbage receptacle bins.
The winning designs will be painted on the garbage bins along Town pathways and in parks for the community to use and enjoy. This project was a great opportunity for students to participate in a fun public art project allowing them to share their creativity with the community.
Once again, congratulations to the winning artists! The bins will be painted this spring, with all designs scheduled to be installed throughout the community by the end of June.
