Taste of Okotoks is your chance to sample the best flavours our local food scene has to offer! From sweet treats to savoury eats, meat-heavy to meat-free, there’s something to satisfy every craving. Bring your appetite, explore a variety of dishes, and experience the tastiest event in Okotoks!

There will also be an artisan market, live stage entertainment, games in the park and more!

Here’s a quick overview of how the Taste of Okotoks process works for participating food vendors:

Once registered, the Events team will follow up with details regarding setup, timelines, and event logistics.
Plan Your Sample Menu
- Vendors create sample-sized menu items for guests to try throughout the event. Most businesses choose a few items that are easy to serve in a high-volume environment and help showcase their business. All menu items must be priced between $1 and $5; smaller portions allow attendees to sample various vendor offerings.
Review menu items with Town of Okotoks events staff
- Someone from the Events team will call or meet with each vendor to review size, quantity, and cost of menu items.
Determine Ticket Pricing
- Taste of Okotoks uses a ticket system rather than direct food sales. Visitors purchase tickets onsite and use them like currency with vendors. Each menu item is assigned a ticket value based on portion size and food cost.
- Please note: Cash sales are not permitted.
Prepare Your Booth Setup
Vendors are responsible for bringing:
- Staff for the day
- Serving supplies
- Signage/menu boards
- Booth equipment and décor
- Generator for power (there is no power in the event zone)
Food Handling & Requirements
- Businesses are responsible for ensuring they meet any required permits, food handling, health, and business licensing requirements associated with operating at the event.
- Mobile Vending Units must provide their permit number in the application.
- All other temporary food vendors (restaurants, catering companies, independent food suppliers) must complete an AHS Special Event Food Vendor Notification form prior to June 15.

Artisan Market

Okotoks MarketSquare has been a cheerleader, event-organizer, and community hub for locally handmade businesses since 2011. MarketSquare organizes 6-10 local annual artisan markets, including the Heart of the Foothills Women's Showcase, Spring Fling Artisan Market, Summer Night Markets at Ethel Tucker Park, and the Okotoks Christmas Market. MarketSquare events are packed with talented makers, tasty food trucks, live entertainment, artist collabs, and feel-good connections with local non-profits. If it’s creative, local, and community-powered, you’ll find it at MarketSquare!

Looking for a way to boost your visibility & engage with the community? Consider registering to participate within the downtown core event zone and get your brand in front of thousands of festival attendees

Interested participants can purchase a 10x10 spot within select events in the downtown core throughout the year. These 10x10 spots are available to all Okotoks and local area businesses and organizations. If you have an idea for a game, activity or contest that will amp up the fun meter, let us know so we can help plan the best location for you to set up. Space is limited for event zone locations so registration is on a first-come first-served basis.
