Community Cleanup and Tree Planting

    Hundreds of volunteers come together each May to help clean up our beautiful Sheep River Valley, parks and community spaces! This annual event is the largest community clean up of the year, making a significant impact in keeping our town green and litter-free.

    We also celebrate our Community Tree Planting. Join us in planting trees, enhancing our local biodiversity, improving air quality, and creating beautiful natural spaces for future generations to enjoy.

    How to Get Involved:

    • Volunteer on the day of – Gather your family, friends, or coworkers and join the effort! Meet at the Lion’s Park Picnic Shelter. Gloves and garbage bags will be available.
    • Tree planting – Help plant trees in designated areas to support reforestation efforts. Just bring your own shovels, proper footwear and gloves.
    • Pre-Register – Skip the 9 a.m. registration on Saturday morning by pre-registering! This way, you can pick up your cleaning supplies in advance at the Okotoks Recreation Centre (Client Services) and just start cleaning up on Saturday morning when you’re ready.
