This year's theme is: Bring the Party to the Streets!
Help us celebrate our community's big win at the 2025 Canadian Event Awards! Light Up Okotoks took home Best Event for a City or Municipality! This incredible recognition belongs to our entire community — your spirit, energy, and support helped put Okotoks on the national stage!
Now, we’re keeping the celebration going with the Okotoks Parade — and we want you to be part of the winter fun in the sun!
We are turning the downtown into a festival of colour, creativity, and community spirit. We’d love to see floats, local businesses, community groups, dance troupes, sports teams, service clubs, musicians, and anyone else ready to show off their Okotoks pride. Whether you’re walking, dancing, rolling, riding or just watching, bring your Light Up Okotoks charm and sunny smiles to the streets! The Children's Festival will take place at Ethel Tucker Park at the Arts & Learning Plaza (7 Riverside Drive) from noon to 3:00 p.m. and is always a hit with families. The Festival includes live entertainment and activities.
The route is changing this year due to construction for the ongoing downtown improvement, so please check out the 2025 Parade Map below.
Where Do I Park?
Parking close will be tricky with construction and team tournaments all over town.
Instead, park where it’s calm and take a short walk into the fun—it’s easier, greener, and way less stressful!
Try these public parking lots!
- Lions Campground: Walk across the Laurie Boyd Bridge
- Okotoks Recreation Centre: Walk down the pathway to Poplar Ave
- Viking Rentals Centre: Walk through the river valley and across the Laurie Boyd Bridge
Accessible parking will be available at the MCG Careers and Summit West parking lots.
Road Closures
To accommodate the parade, full road closures will be in effect for Elizabeth Street, McRae Street, South Railway Street, Daggett Street, Riverside Drive and North Railway Street from McRae to Lineham Avenue. These road closures could start as early as 8 a.m. with full closures from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will also be a single lane closure on Northridge Drive in the northbound lane.
We are expecting delays. We appreciate your patience as we bring this iconic event to life again this year!
