The community is invited to join the Town of Okotoks and Foothills School Division for a special Blackfoot Pipe Ceremony marking the official naming of Kingfisher Lodge, a shared gathering place designed for learning, connection and community events.
The name honours the kingfisher, a bird that holds significance in the Blackfoot creation story and is native to the Sheep River valley. The kingfisher is also featured on the Town of Okotoks' tipi and logo, while "lodge" reflects a place where people come together.
