Today is the International Day for Biological Diversity and the theme is harmony with nature and sustainable development.
“We are completely dependent on healthy and vibrant ecosystems for our water, food, medicines, clothes, fuel, shelter and energy, just to name a few” (https://www.un.org/en/observances/biological-diversity-day).
Join us for a nature walk, crafts, and learn about the biodiversity all around us!
Here's what we've got going on this week:
| CREATE | Using natural materials collected outside, create a picture frame to remind us of our connection to the earth! |
| WATCH & LEARN | The diversity of nature, coexisting with nature, and urban wildlife! |
| EXPLORE | Join us for a nature walk (weather permitting) at 1pm to explore the biodiversity all around us with a fun outdoor scavenger hunt! |
Please note: parents must stay with their children while they are in the education centre.
Hours: the Environmental Education Centre is open Monday to Friday to the public from 10 AM to 4 PM. Fridays a staff member will be on hand running activities, and will be available to chat with the public and answer questions.
