Our Powwow, All-Indigenous Artisan Market, “Iitohpoom’op,” (Blackfoot word for store) and Tipi Camp are returning in 2026! These events are free to attend and reflect the Town’s commitment to advancing Truth and Reconciliation, and creating opportunity to celebrate Indigenous culture, identity and art – just in time for National Indigenous History Month, which runs throughout June.
This event will take place at the Viking Rentals Centre Arena and Events Hall, located at 204 Community Way, Okotoks, Alberta. See below for further location details.

Event Details
The Powwow, All-Indigenous Market and Tipi Camp are taking place at the Viking Rentals Centre Arena and Events Hall, located at 204 Community Way, Okotoks Alberta. See below for further location details:
- Powwow Location: Infinity Arena (formerly The Green Arena) located inside the Viking Rentals Centre
- All-Indigenous Artisan Market Location: Viking Rentals Centre Events Hall
- Tipi Camp Location: Located behind Viking Rentals Centre in Howard Park, located at 229 Woodhaven Drive. There will be public outdoor washrooms and handwashing stations available for use at the north end of the field
- Foothills School Division Indigenous High School Graduation Ceremony: Infinity Arena (formerly The Green Arena) located inside the Viking Rentals Centre
- Food Trucks Location: There will be four food trucks, along with tables and seating, located on the north side of the Viking Rentals Centre Parking lot
- Bathroom Locations: There is public washrooms available for use inside of the Viking Rentals Centre Arena and Events Hall. There will also be outdoor bathrooms (outhouses) and handwashing stations available at the north east corner of the Viking Rentals Centre parking lot, and the north east corner of Howard Park
- Potable Water: There will be potable water stations located throughout the event venue.
There will be parking available onsite in the main Viking Rentals Centre parking lot in front of the arena and the events hall. Overflow parking will be available at the Foothills Composite High School.
Food will be available for purchase throughout the weekend at KC's Eatery, located inside the Viking Rentals Centre in the Infinity Arena on the second floor. There will also be four food trucks with food available for purchase throughout the weekend, located at the north end of the Viking Rentals Centre parking lot.

The Town of Okotoks is partnering with MarketSquare for our 4th annual All-Indigenous Artisan Market “Iitohpoom’op" (store), taking place inside the Viking Rentals Centre Event Hall from May 29 to 31, 2026.
In the spirit of celebrating Indigenous artisans and makers, only Indigenous artisans including First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples will have the opportunity to take part as a vendor in this market.
Join us to celebrate Indigenous culture, and the Indigenous artisans and makers in our community!
Our 4th annual Tipi Camp returns May 29 to 31, 2026, commemorating the Tipi transfer that took place on June 3, 2023. Also happening that weekend are our Powwow and All-Indigenous Artisan Market. Together, these events reflect the Town’s commitment to advancing Truth and Reconciliation and creating opportunities to celebrate Indigenous culture, identity, and art.

The Tipi Camp will be set up at Howard Park North Soccer Field (229 Woodhaven Drive). Setup for the Camp will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday May 29, and take-down will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday May 31, 2026.
