The Collective is a locally owned retail boutique dedicated to showcasing thoughtfully curated handmade goods from Albertan and Canadian makers. Founded in 2024 by Rachel Curran, The Collective was created to support small businesses and artisans who may not otherwise have access to a brick-and-mortar retail space.
Opening a physical storefront can be costly and overwhelming for many makers, and The Collective helps bridge that gap by providing an elevated, welcoming space where customers can discover unique products—from gifts and treats to everyday essentials—all in one place. Every business featured is carefully hand-selected, with hundreds of hours spent curating a high-quality mix of products that reflect creativity, craftsmanship, and local talent.
With an upcoming move to a new location, The Collective is expanding its vision to include workshops, mini art shows, and meet-the-maker events, creating opportunities for the community to connect directly with Foothills and Albertan artists. More than just a retail shop, The Collective is focused on making shopping local an experience—one that celebrates creativity, connection and community.
Rachel loves doing business in Okotoks for its strong sense of support and collaboration. With a thriving network of entrepreneurs, locally owned businesses and community organizations, Okotoks offers an environment where small businesses can truly grow and thrive.
