Volunteers needed for Annual Cleanup and Tree Planting

Community Cleanup

The Town of Okotoks is looking for volunteers for the annual Okotoks Community Cleanup and Tree Planting event on Saturday, May 8.
Residents can register online for one of 20 cleanup zones at www.okotoks.ca/cleanup until zones are filled. If a zone is greyed out, the maximum number of registrants has been reached.
If a household would all like to register for a zone, registration forms must be filled out for each person attending, regardless of age, to adhere to Alberta Health Services (AHS) guidelines. Once residents have registered, they will receive email reminders and notifications of when and where their cleanup kits can be picked up.
To register for tree planting, residents can visit www.okotoks.ca/treeplanting. Due to AHS guidelines, only 18 tree planting spots will be available this year.
Volunteers will be provided with cleanup kits, which will include gloves, cleanup supplies and details for safely collecting litter and are reminded to wear proper footwear, long-sleeve shirts and pants.  If participating in tree planting, please bring your own shovel. Remember to supervise children under 12 at all times and to leash and clean up after your dog.

Due to current pandemic restrictions, there will be no in-person gathering or barbeque.  For more information, visit www.okotoks.ca/cleanup.
