Support local businesses during Light Up Okotoks

Light Up Okotoks

The Town of Okotoks is excited to announce the return of Light Up Okotoks on November 19, 2021.

Supporting the social fabric of the community as well as the local businesses is a priority, with Town of Okotoks council challenging residents to spend 80% of their holiday shopping dollars with businesses within Okotoks.

The Town of Okotoks has worked with local businesses to launch Festive Fridays, which kick off during the Light Up Okotoks event and are featured on the Light Up event page. These seasonal specials include activities, sales and more throughout the holiday season. Take advantage of dining and shopping downtown.

Although Light Up Okotoks will look a little different this year, it will still include the lighting of the tree at two different times, fireworks and other seasonal activities downtown.

Bookable activities will allow residents to reserve time slots in advance. These activities will include horse-drawn wagon rides, mini-concerts at Rotary Performing Arts Centre (RPAC), and Selfies with Santa. A complete list of activities and details can be found at www.okotoks.ca/lightup, but hurry, they are almost sold out.

The Okotoks Art Gallery is launching its Spirit of Christmas Art Market for Light Up, as well as the Tree of Warmth. Donations can be dropped off at the gallery. The Okotoks Museum and Archives will be open for their Old-Fashioned Christmas exhibits.

The Holiday Light Tour will once again occur during the holiday season. Details for those residents and businesses wishing to include their light displays in the tour can register at Okotoks.ca/lightup.

To make this year’s Light Up a success, the Town needs your help. Please help us by physically distancing and wearing a mask. The ability to follow guidelines will shape what events can look like in 2022.
