Nooks & Crannies Festival seeks artists – submission deadline extended

Nooks and Crannies Submission deadline extended

The Nooks and Crannies Festival is hosting a call for submissions for the summer 2022 event in downtown Okotoks. Artists now have until May 15 to submit their proposed designs at

The festival is entering its fourth year and encourages artists to creatively repurpose pre-used materials and bring public art to forgotten nooks and crannies of downtown Okotoks.

Individual artists and teams are asked to use recycled products to create installations that raise environmental awareness, animate spaces, and entertain audiences.

Any Alberta-based artists are invited to participate, and will have the opportunity to collect recyclable materials from the Okotoks Eco Centre in the month prior to installation.

Each participating artist will receive $250 at the end of the festival. Bonus prizes will also be awarded in the following categories: Viewers' Choice, Best Use of a Nook or Cranny, and Best Environmental Message.

These temporary public artworks will be available for viewing from July 16 to August 27 in locations throughout downtown Okotoks. The opening day of the festival (July 16) also offers a great opportunity for the community to check out the Nooks and Crannies artwork and try some great local food at the Taste of Okotoks event.
