Voter Eligibility

  • 18 years old
  • A Canadian citizen
  • A resident in Alberta
  • Voter’s place of residence must be located in the local jurisdiction on election day (Section 47 of the Local Authorities Election Act)
  • Voters will be required to provide proof of name and home address (e.g. Canadian government issued photo identification)         

Free Transit
Free transit rides are being offered to and from voting locations on advance voting and election day. Book your ride, enter the promo code VOTE, and your ride will be 100% discounted. The code is available up to 4 hours before and after each voting session. Book early as all voting days will be busy!

Please be aware that, regardless of vaccination status, all residents eligible to vote in the upcoming Municipal Election will be able to do so at either the Okotoks Recreation Centre or the Foothills Centennial Centre. Voters are asked to follow mandatory Provincial public health orders by wearing a mask and maintaining 2 metres of physical distance.
