Everyone has a role to play in preparing for an emergency. As part of Emergency Preparedness Week (May 5-11), the Town is hosting an Emergency Preparedness Open House:
When: Saturday, May 11, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where: Okotoks Recreation Centre Curling Rink
Our open house is an opportunity to meet the emergency responders and organizations that serve our community while learning more about how you can be better prepared for a disaster or an emergency.
“Emergency preparedness isn’t just about being ready for the next big disaster,” says Garth Misura, Town of Okotoks Disaster and Emergency Management Coordinator. “It’s about making preparedness a part of your regular routine, so you can better navigate disruptions, big or small.”
While our open house is a great opportunity to have conversations, everyone in our community is encouraged to be prepared for an emergency or disaster. Preparation includes simple habits such as building your own emergency kit.
Follow along on the Town's social channels throughout the week for more emergency preparedness resources and tips or visit okotoks.ca/be-ready.
