The Town is excited to announce that e-Scooters will be returning to Okotoks for the 2022 season, which runs from March to October, weather permitting.
At the February 14 regular meeting, Council approved facilitating e-Scooters as a micro-mobility service on an ongoing basis. A pilot survey conducted in December 2021 helped to inform the future of the program and the What We Heard report is available at okotoks.ca/haveyoursay. Bird Canada will remain the e-Scooter provider for 2022.
Increased safety education will be a key focus for the Town, with safety and rider courtesy messaging and education to ensure that everyone can safely enjoy this fun activity as they share the pathways with pedestrians, cyclists and others. All riders are recommended to wear a helmet when riding an e-Scooter.
e-Scooters provide a safe, accessible and environmentally-friendly micro-mobility solution for Okotoks that improves quality of life, reduces the Town’s carbon footprint, supports the local economy and helps the Town meet its active transportation goals.
More details will be shared on the Town’s website at okotoks.ca/e-scooter as they become available.
