Designs and locations paired for Paint-a-Potty: Number Two

Public Washroom

The community voted on which designs should be painted on each of the five outdoor concrete washrooms in Okotoksas part of the Paint-a-Potty: Number Two public consultation.

More than 290 members of the community voted.

The designs and site locations chosen are as follows:

  • Laudan Park – Bee Part of the Community
  • Dog Park – Checkered Sunflowers
  • Cimarron Park – Nightscape
  • Tower Hill Park – Swirling Sky
  • BMX Park – Cartoons

Seventy-five per cent of voters agreed the cartoon design was a great fit for the BMX Park. The rest of the designs were an even split of votes.

Congratulations to the winning artists, who are Desirae Quinn, Bridget Tait, Ayana Patterson, Sen Smith, and Tasha Walther.

The washroom mural paintings will begin this spring, with all designs scheduled for completion by the end of the 2021 school year.

Okotoks Culture & Heritage, Parks Services and École Secondaire Foothills Composite High School / Alberta High School of Fine Arts collaborated on the project, which will add beauty to a functional facility and deter vandalism and graffiti.

The project is made possible with financial support from the Calgary Foundation.
