The Alberta Community Bat Program started in 2015 through discussions with the Alberta Bat Action Team (ABAT). We are now part of Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Canada’s Western Canada Bat Conservation Program. We have charity status as a project of WCS Canada. The project is developed in collaboration with the Alberta Bat Action Team, Alberta Environment and Parks, and numerous staff, contractors and volunteers.
